Formalizing your relationship with the Synagogue via a membership not only allows you to maintain a strong connection to your community but comes with a series of perks such as a designated seat in Melbourne’s oldest Jewish prayer space as well as free access to Jewish learning programs, pastoral care and lifecycle events. You also receive discounts for our popular arts and cultural events and other religious institutions such as the Melbourne Beth Din.

Your financial contribution in turn allows the Synagogue to continue its important pastoral and spiritual work.

    Please choose this option if you would like to join the Synagogue membership and reserve a seat in the Men's section of the sanctuary. The membership payment is a meaningful financial contribution that remains the most profound support for the ongoing operation of our Shul.   • Concession Membership

    Everyone is afforded the right to attend our Shul regardless of financial situation. If you cannot manage the full Shul membership fee we will, without any invasive questioning offer you this discounted membership at $180 per person.

  • Visitor Membership – Visiting us for Shabbat or festivals

    This is an option, for overseas, interstate or even cross suburb visitors who will only be visiting for a period. You can make a donation of your choosing here and be assigned a seat temporarily in our Synagogue.

  • Friends of EMHC

    The Friends of East Melbourne option is for people who may not be willing or able to take on a full membership (for example already are members at a different shul) but still wish to support and remain affiliated to our Synagogue in some way. The suggested amount for a Friend of East Melbourne HC is $100.
