We are embarking on a most ambitious and exciting restoration and renewal program for  the East Melbourne Synagogue. We have the opportunity to restore the sanctuary ensuring it remains a longstanding, central asset to our community. Our purposeful and thoughtful program of works includes a refurbishment of the existing heritage Synagogue, and the transformation of the old schoolroom behind the Synagogue into a world leading Judaic library and learning centre.

Additionally, plans and permits are in place to build a modern yet meaningful new building at the rear of the synagogue. It will consist of a contemporary hall and kitchen for events on the ground floor, a much-needed recreation and learning place for our youth, and a residence for the rabbi and his family above the hall. The building will be crowned by a rooftop garden terrace.

These new facilities will be able to host renewed and expanded religious, educational, social and welfare programs for the benefit of the whole community.

To make a donation to the restoration and renewal of our building and/or programs please select an option above or contact the Synagogue president at office@melbournecitysynagogue.com

Thank you for your generosity.
