Tishah B’Av; An ode, an elegy, a lament for a darkened world
Commemorate the saddest evening in the Jewish calendar in a uniquely eclectic East Melbourne manner. We are asking our congregants to choose a traditional reading such as a lamentation or elegy (Eichah, Kinot etc) and present it in whatever form you wish while we sit on the floor of the darkened shul.
Monday evening 12th August at 6:30pm
(There will also be a traditional Mincha Service during Tishah Bav day at 5pm at the Shul)
East Melbourne Shul. 494-500 Albert St, East Melbourne 3002.
No Food or Drink or Music
Attend in a sombre mood, fasting, with muted or ugly clothing
