High Holidays and Festivals 2026-5787
All service times and registration options for High Holidays and new year festivals at East Melbourne synagogue.
Melbourne's Synagogue in the City
Come as a visitor. Been before, or never been at all – you are welcome either way. Register and if you have the wherewithal make a donation of your choosing and we will save you a seat. Request a guest pass
Join as a member. A reserved seat for the festival season and indeed the whole year, and support our shul’s future. Apply for membership
Not sure? Just ask. You do not need to decide anything today. Ask us whether you can come, whether to bring the children, or what happens at a service – a person ( not a bot) will answer. Contact the Synagogue
A shul by definition is open to all. You are welcome regardless of what you are able to give.
We ask everyone to pre-register for organisational and security reasons. Full service times are sent to everyone who registers.
Prayer books provided, in Hebrew and English
The Rabbi gives a running commentary throughout – where we are, what is happening, and what to do next
A supervised play area for children in the rear hall
Tea and coffee, and a kiddush after each service (except Yom Kippur)
Volunteers at the door to welcome you and help you locate your seat
You do not need to read Hebrew, and there is no dress code beyond comfortable and respectful
Step-free access from the Albert Street entrance
